Ed Sander Memorial Cyclocross

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

In August of 2001, NCVC member Ed Sander passed away following a training accident. In remembrance of Ed, NCVC hosts bicycling events on the grounds of Ed's former employer, Lilypons Water Gardens. The proceeds from these events goes into a college scholarship fund for Ed's only son.

The course ran through the ponds at Lilypons, (where I buy my pond fish and plants btw) and it was raining off and on, which meant...MUD.

This was my first time attending a cyclocross event and it was a blast. From the beautiful scenery to Joe Jefferson blasting the Hump de Bump on the Back Nine.

Did I mention the mud?

My first time out trying to light a subject with a strobe rather than use available light only.

All of the shots had a Nikon flash shooting through a small softbox on camera left. A couple had an additional strobe providing a small amount of fill light from camera right.
